Final entry - including calendar at last!

This has been a fantastic journey and I would really like to thank the organisers for the clear, concise and easily followed paths they have taken us down. I have learned so much although as others have already said I don't know how much our IT people will let us actually use in the library. I have been so keen and talkative about this that there are several other people who are keen to have a go so I was pleased to hear that you are keeping the site open at least until the end of the year. Now onto the survey ...

Google Docs

As has been remarked elsewhere - so many free programmes out there. It does make any form of external storage obsolete. As an oldie I had not realised just how much one can do on-line and just how easy one can move information around. I am still using the "old" ways such as email and am continually amazed at what can now be done. Thanks again for giving us the chance to become acquainted with all these programmes in such a clear and concise fashion.

Mashups

Found this lesson very interesting indeed and wasted hours and hours playing with Google Maps. The "Street View" feature means that we can incorporate different buildings and places of interest in our town maps and the driving instructions make life much easier to explain where places are. I found Bighugelabs very easy to use and can forsee several different uses especially in promotion of different events and activities and look forward to hours of fun "playing" with this site. Found the calendar so easy and am already thinking of Christmas presents!!! Having said that I now cannot move my calendar here from my desktop so will try again later.
